Senior Engineer - Audio

You will be working as a Senior Embedded Audio Software Engineer at Qualcomm India Private Limited, a global leader in mobile, AI, and IoT semiconductor technologies. Your primary responsibility will be to design, code, debug, and optimize embedded audio software features on Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs for next-generation devices. Your role will involve hands-on work in developing voice activation, speech recognition, translation, and text-to-speech functionalities. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, implement, and integrate embedded voice/audio software features on Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs for various use-cases while ensuring performance, latency, power, and stability requirements are met. - Write efficient C/C++ code for real-time audio signal processing and voice features, following best practices in multi-threaded programming and memory management. - Debug and resolve complex issues in audio signal paths, firmware, and drivers using a range of debugging tools and techniques. - Profile and optimize software to meet memory footprint and CPU utilization targets, fine-tuning algorithms and system configurations for low-latency audio processing and low power consumption. - Manage and prioritize development tasks, communicate project status, risks, and mitigation plans to ensure timely delivery of high-quality audio software releases. - Proactively suggest improvements to audio frameworks or development processes, applying problem-solving skills to overcome technical challenges. **Required Qualifications:** - Bachelors degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. - 4+ years of hands-on software development experience in embedded systems or firmware (C/C++). - Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded platforms, with experience in optimizing code for memory and CPU usage. - Solid understanding of computer architecture, real-time operating systems, concurrency/multi-threading, and fundamental data structures & algorithms. - Prior experience in audio signal processing or voice technology development, along with the ability to debug complex embedded systems. - Experience working with ARM Cortex processors or DSPs, and optimizing for low power, memory constraints, and real-time deadlines.
