As a Senior Embedded Test Engineer at Atlas Copco's Global Engineering Centre, India (GECIA), you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team working on cutting-edge cryogenic vacuum pumps and allied systems. Your role involves meticulous planning and execution of test strategies to ensure software quality and reliability. **Key Responsibilities** **Test Planning and Design:** - Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on software requirements. - Create and maintain automated test scripts using Python and C++. - Identify test scenarios and data requirements, documenting them effectively. **Test Execution and Reporting:** - Conduct manual and automated tests to verify software quality. - Analyze test results, report defects, and collaborate with the development team for issue resolution. - Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline for efficiency. **Automation Development:** - Design and implement test automation frameworks to enhance efficiency. - Maintain and improve existing automation scripts. - Utilize pytest framework for scalable Python test automation. **Embedded Systems Testing:** - Verify embedded systems and firmware compliance with specifications. - Perform hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing. - Validate communication protocols and interfaces in embedded systems. **Quality Assurance:** - Ensure adherence to software development standards. - Participate in code reviews to enhance testability and quality. - Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies. **Documentation and Communication:** - Create detailed test documentation including plans, cases, and reports. - Communicate test results effectively to stakeholders. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives. **Requirements** - Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. - 5-8 years of experience in software testing with proficiency in Python and C++. - Strong understanding of embedded systems, RTOS, and communication protocols. - Experience with pytest, embedded system development, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems. - Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. **Preferred Qualifications** - Knowledge of hardware debugging tools and test management tools. - Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) is a plus. - Familiarity with Java, JavaScript, and React is beneficial.
