Senior Embedded Software Tester

As a Senior Embedded Software Tester (QA) at our client, a global leader in the electric vehicle charging industry, your role involves contributing to the development of high-performance platform and embedded software systems testing. Here is a summary of your role overview, key responsibilities, and required qualifications: Role Overview: You will be responsible for creating detailed test plans, writing test cases, and developing other QA documents based on platform software requirements and specifications. Performing hands-on testing of platform and embedded software to ensure comprehensive test coverage is a crucial aspect of your role. Automation of test cases and processes using Python will be required to streamline testing activities and improve efficiency. Collaborating cross-functionally with various teams to drive solutions and maintain high-quality standards throughout the testing lifecycle are also key responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: - Create detailed test plans, write test cases, and develop QA documents based on software requirements. - Perform hands-on testing of platform and embedded software for comprehensive test coverage. - Automate test cases and processes using Python for efficient testing activities. - File and track bugs from identification through closure, ensuring verification. - Provide timely status updates to the team, assisting in decision-making for release readiness. - Collaborate cross-functionally to understand support/field issues and drive solutions. - Maintain high-quality standards and help the team resolve technical challenges. Required Qualifications & Skills: - 5+ years of experience in embedded/platform software testing with a deep understanding of testing methodologies. - Experience in writing test cases and creating defects in JIRA. - Proficiency in Python programming with OOPS concepts. - Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, particularly in embedded environments. - Exposure to embedded operating systems such as Linux. - Familiarity with Raspberry Pi/Arduino is an added advantage. - Problem-solving mindset, strong analytical skills, and effective communication in a team environment. - Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools. - Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
