Senior EM - Platform

As a skilled engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing robust and scalable data platforms and microservices. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring that architectural and coding best practices are adhered to in order to deliver secure, reliable, and maintainable systems. You will actively engage in debugging complex system issues and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to define project scope, goals, and deliverables. In this role, you will be tasked with managing priorities, effectively allocating resources, and ensuring the timely delivery of projects. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to lead, mentor, and cultivate a team of 10-15 engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture within the organization. Conducting regular one-on-one sessions, providing career development support, and managing performance evaluations will also be part of your responsibilities. Driving innovation is a key aspect of this position, where you will be expected to identify new technologies and methodologies to enhance systems and processes. You will be responsible for defining and tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure engineering efficiency, system performance, and team productivity. Collaborating closely with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Customer Success engineers, and other stakeholders to align efforts with business goals will also be essential. In addition to the above responsibilities, you will partner with other engineering teams to deliver cross-cutting features, contributing to the overall success of the organization. Requirements: - Possess 10-15 years of relevant experience. - Demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a diverse and geographically distributed team. - Have hands-on experience in building and scaling data platforms and microservices-based products. - Proficient in programming languages commonly used for backend and data engineering such as Java, Python, and Go. - Operational experience with tools like Kafka/Kafka Streams, Spark, Databricks, Apache Iceberg, Apache Druid, and Clickhouse. - Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases.
