Job Summary

The Senior Service Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of elevators installed and maintained by Selens Elevators. This role involves leading service activities, troubleshooting complex technical issues, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Service & Maintenance

  • Perform preventive maintenance, breakdown service, and corrective repairs on passenger, home, and goods elevators.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and control system faults.
  • Ensure elevators operate as per design specifications and safety norms.

Troubleshooting & Technical Support

  • Analyze recurring faults and recommend permanent solutions.
  • Coordinate with engineering and installation teams for technical clarifications and upgrades.
  • Support commissioning and modernization activities when required.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all safety procedures and statutory requirements (TNEI / IS standards).
  • Conduct safety checks and ensure proper functioning of safety devices.
  • Maintain accurate service records, checklists, and job reports.

Team Leadership

  • Guide and mentor junior service technicians and helpers.
  • Allocate daily service tasks and monitor quality of work.
  • Train team members on best practices and new technologies.

Customer Interaction

  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding service issues, resolutions, and preventive measures.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and ensure timely closure.
  • Support AMC renewals and service-related technical inputs when needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Elevator Technology.
  • 5-12 years of hands-on experience

    in elevator service and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of elevator controllers, door systems, safety circuits, and drive systems.
  • Experience with home elevators and custom installations is an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong understanding of elevator safety systems and regulations.
  • Leadership and team management abilities.
  • Good communication and customer-handling skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle emergency breakdowns.

Work Conditions

  • Field-based role involving travel to customer sites.
  • Availability for emergency calls and breakdown support.
  • Physical ability to work in shafts, machine rooms, and construction sites.
