Job Description:

• Lead end-to-end delivery of data engineering user stories within Scrum (backlog grooming, planning, development, code review, and release).
• Build and optimize dbt models (SQL) running on Snowflake; design efficient schemas, materializations, tests, and documentation.
• Develop Treasure Data workflows (Presto/SQL) and decide when to run logic in Treasure Data vs. Snowflake/dbt for cost and performance.
• Write high-quality SQL and Python for transformations, data quality checks, orchestration, and AI/LLM-assisted enrichment (e.g., filling missing attributes, web-sourced enrichment).
• Establish and champion engineering best practices: code review standards, SQL/Python linters, unit/integration testing, CI/CD, observability.
• Own CI/CD using GitHub Actions (automated testing, linting, environment promotion, release management) with GitHub or similar other tools.
• Partner with Marketing stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to scope use cases, evaluate tooling, and translate requirements into technical designs.
• Serve as a technical lead for a globally distributed team: mentor engineers, provide empathetic feedback, and raise the engineering bar by example.
• Contribute to data governance and privacy-by-design practices; ensure secure handling of customer data and compliance with internal policies.
• Create clear documentation (dbt docs, READMEs, runbooks) and promote good code as documentation.
• 5+ years in data engineering or software engineering with a strong SQL focus; 2+ years leading projects or teams
• Expert SQL across warehousing and query engines; experience with Snowflake and dbt (models, tests, macros, packages).
• Hands-on Python for data engineering (pandas/PySpark where relevant), quality checks, and integrating external services such as LLMs.
• Practical experience with Treasure Data or similar CDPs; strong understanding of when to execute logic in CDP vs. warehouse.
• CI/CD with GitHub and GitHub Actions; branching strategies; automated testing and linting for SQL and Python.
• Agile/Scrum delivery experience, including story estimation, iterative delivery, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership across time zones
