The Data & Analytics Platform business unit at HRS consists of around 50 Data Specialists including Analysts, Scientists, and Engineers who work together in the Data Community. They create analytics solutions that serve corporate customers, hotel partners, internal stakeholders, and ultimately millions of business travelers worldwide. HRS Data & Analytics leverage a rich data landscape including spend data, booking data, rate data, web analytics data, etc. They turn raw data into actionable insights to provide (semi-) automated decision support to customers and business stakeholders with advanced analytical solutions. State-of-the-art algorithms are brought into production to enhance the Search & Booking experience and optimize the corporate hotel portfolio to meet the objectives of customers and the needs of travelers. HRS is currently looking for an experienced Senior AWS Data Engineer to support their teams from the Chandigarh/Mohali office and report to HRS HQ. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating with stakeholders, business teams, and data teams, converting business requirements into pipeline and data model designs, and implementing data engineering solutions supporting different areas of the business. The ideal candidate should have expertise in working with AWS resources and capabilities, modeling multidimensional datasets, and implementing and maintaining data pipelines sponsoring "lakehouse" architectures. This role offers high visibility to senior leadership and provides a significant opportunity for impact for those willing to dive deep and achieve results. The main challenge for the Senior AWS Data Engineer is to develop an innovative data landscape for driving the business with analytics solutions up to real-time using state-of-the-art data and analytics technologies on AWS and RDBMS. They will design and build pipelines with Continuous Delivery practices to collect, normalize, index, integrate, and publish data coming from multiple sources to the AWS-based data platform and in-memory data warehouse Exasol/Oracle. The candidate will also orchestrate cloud resources, automate scheduling, pipelining, monitoring, and performance reporting. Continuous improvement of Analytics & Data Pipelines workflow from experiment to release stage is essential. Additionally, building data platform tooling and capabilities that enable data analysts, scientists, and engineers to build and operate analytic workloads through self-service is a key responsibility. The ideal candidate for this role should have an understanding of designing, building, and maintaining successful data platforms, services, and products. Hands-on experience in data extraction & integration, environment & deployment automation, and cloud engineering services using private and public cloud resources is required. Expertise in Data Warehousing, ETL, Analytics, and reporting is essential, with preferred skills in SQL, Python, AWS, Spark, Microstrategy, Oracle/Exasol, and Superset. Excellent communication skills are necessary to collaborate with business stakeholders, technical engineers, and management. Fluency in English is a must.
