Senior Consultant - TAX - National - TAX - Other - TTT Development

The opportunity

As a TTT services professional at Ernst and Young, you will be involved in the development of cutting-edge and industry-leading solutions using the latest tools and technologies for enabling GST compliance. You will be part of a talented team of software professionals and will receive extensive training and support from a variety of leading tax professionals to assist you in building a successful career within EY.

Your key responsibilities

• Provides innovative and practical designs for the design and integration of new and existing systems, applying advanced technical capabilities
• Provides technical expertise to maximize and improve value from new and existing IT products and solutions and may lead on tool evaluation efforts including the definition of evaluation criteria, tool identification, and the actual evaluation
• Guides others in resolving sophisticated issues in technical architecture and solves sophisticated, escalated aspects of a project and contributes to project management activities, such as providing estimates for tasks
• Works across multidisciplinary teams and with the business to deliver simple and easy-to-use systems that meet user needs and gain client/business customers buy-in consensus
• Provides coaching, mentoring, and support to development teams during the integration of components and services across the ecosystem, frameworks, and platforms
• Reviews and develops due diligence to confirm the developed solution complies and aligns with architectural design
• Contributes to development standards to promote optimization and consistency (including code modularization and reuse)
• Learns new and emerging technologies and adopts them in the project
• Consistently works on improving productivity and cost management of operations
• Delivers high-quality software and work products in a time-bound manner
• Works in a dynamic and collaborative environment within and across teams

Skills and attributes for success

• Has an advanced understanding of technical architecture and can apply this in the development of components of highly scalable, redundant, and fault-tolerant systems
• Working knowledge/understanding of Java/J2EE/Spark/Springboot/Hibernate/Storm, Kafka, Node.js, Quartz, SSIS, SQL, RESTful/SOAP APIs, and other Open Source technologies
• Able to guide the team through the development, testing, and implementation stages and review the completed work effectively
• Able to make quick decisions and solve technical problems to provide an efficient environment for project implementation
• Operates with a production-first and test-first mindset. Boosts developer productivity and velocity to shorten the inner loop and minimize churn
• Profound understanding of Machine Learning use cases and identifies areas where AI can help
• Must provide technical training to teams when required and serve as a technical mentor to team members
• Has good knowledge of DevOps processes, deployment tools, and strategies on any of the public cloud providers
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional services environment

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, IT, Mathematics, or related field preferred
• More than 5 years applied experience
• Experience of owning the design of a major/large component of an application or software architecture
• Possesses deep knowledge on technical architecture spanning across all aspects of each system and how it can be applied in a business context
• Proven experience in delivering effective technical architecture strategies
• Microsoft Azure project experience
• Full-stack experience: Java (must-have), Spark (must-have), Python (nice to have), Azure (must-have)
