Senior Consultant - Environmental Permitting & Compliance

As a Consultant to Senior Consultant in the Environmental Permitting and Compliance team, your role will involve supporting the delivery of environmental permit applications, associated studies, and compliance activities for the regulated industry sector in the UK. You will work across various industrial sectors such as energy, waste, food and drink, chemicals, and manufacturing. Your responsibilities will include: - Obtaining environmental permits for industrial facilities - Handling variations, transfers, and surrenders of existing permits - Managing permit applications for water discharge activities, flood risk activity permits, and trade effluent consents The projects you will be involved in range from smaller single localized sites to nationally significant infrastructure projects, catering to clients with over 50 operating sites. To excel in this role, you are expected to have experience in the following areas: - Reviewing site sensitivities and environmental constraints - Completing Environmental Risk Assessments - Conducting screening assessments of point source emissions to air and/or water - Compiling and summarizing environmental monitoring reports and pollution inventories - Drafting chapters on energy, raw materials, water use, and waste management - Applying Best Available Techniques for different sectors - Developing Accident Management Plans, Contingency Plans, Fire Prevention Plans, Odour Management Plans, and Noise Management Plans - Ensuring Environmental Management Systems compliance - Developing Site Condition Reports - Evaluating BAT options for abatement of emissions - Conducting audits against permit and environmental regulatory requirements - Identifying and interpreting regulatory requirements - Leading regulator liaison and consultation with stakeholders,
