Overview

Senior Back-End Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, enhance, and refactor the Laravel (v10+) MVC codebase.
  
• Collaborate with frontend (Vue.js) and mobile teams on REST API design and improvements.
  
• Refactor legacy features for better stability, maintainability, and performance.
  
• Integrate and maintain third-party systems:

  Xero, Lightspeed, Pronto, Stripe, Windcave

  , and others.
• Optimize data-heavy processes, queue workers, and scheduled jobs for large-scale operations.
  
• Contribute to a scalable and observable backend architecture with proper logging, monitoring, and alerting.
  
• Participate in code reviews, technical planning, and continuous improvement of engineering standards.
  
• Troubleshoot production issues and support incident response processes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in

  Laravel/PHP back-end development

  .
• Strong understanding of

  RESTful API architecture

  , versioning, and documentation standards.
• Proven experience integrating large third-party systems (e.g., Stripe, Xero, POS/ERP tools).
  
• Strong knowledge of

  MySQL performance

  , optimized queries, indexing, and schema design.
• Experience working with

  queues, workers, and distributed job processing

  .
• Comfort working with and improving

  legacy codebases

  .
• Solid debugging, profiling, and performance-optimization skills.
  

Nice to Have

• Experience with

  AWS services

• Working knowledge of
