Position Summary:

The Senior Backend Developer will collaborate with frontend engineers and other engineers to create a functioning program. The Senior Backend Developer will also repair software or test code to ensure the software functions as intended.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential duties of the position include the following, and other duties may be assigned:

• Designs and develops applications across multiple modules utilizing .NET, C#, .NET Core, Entity Framework Core, etc.
• Write optimal and efficient code using object-oriented programming, design patterns, and best practices.
• Provide full technical documentation to a given standard while storing as directed.
• Confirm program operation by coordinating with colleagues to conduct necessary tests, while debugging and modifying program sequence and/or code.
• Perform scheduled maintenance as required and support the existing application.
• Arrange project requirements in programming sequence, providing estimations on deliverables using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, programming language, and logic.
• Develop solutions for all tiers of the application: user interface, business logic, database, workflows, and reporting, and be a key contributor to innovation while building proof of concept examples that can be leveraged across current and future solutions.

Education/Experience:

A bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent professional experience and certifications may be considered. 6-9 years of hands-on experience in backend development, specifically with .NET technologies (.NET Core, ASP.NET, C#). Proficient understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery to facilitate seamless integration between frontend and backend components. Familiarity with at least one frontend development stack, such as Angular or React, to effectively collaborate with frontend teams and ensure end-to-end application functionality. Extensive experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL endpoints. Strong knowledge of database management systems, including both relational (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and non-relational (MongoDB) databases. Working experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, including deployment, scalability, and monitoring practices. Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes. Knowledge of DevOps pipelines and CI/CD tools, with the ability to automate and optimize build and deployment processes. Proficiency in modern authentication and security protocols (e.g., OAuth, JWT, SAML). Experience in message queue systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka) for asynchronous processing. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent collaboration abilities, and the ability to mentor junior developers and guide architectural decisions.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write moderately complex correspondence. Ability to effectively converse and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide on all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret feedback from non-skilled technical system users to uncover the source of problems and persistence to efficiently provide solutions. Extreme attention to detail is required to ensure proper documentation of facts. Ability to adapt well in the face of workplace stressors such as customer service complaints, maintaining the security of data, and competing priorities of high significance to the successful function of the department.

Computer Skills:

A significant comfort level in using accounting software and a variety of computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office products, web browsers, and CRM tools.
