Senior Associate Specialist, General Ledger

Role Overview: As the GL Reconciliations Subject Matter Expert (SME), your primary responsibility is to review and approve reconciliations while providing timely guidance on reconciliation and journal posting issues to the GL team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity and reliability of account balances in SAP. Working within a team of GL reconcilers, you will collaborate with various stakeholders such as Local Finance, Business Controllers, Business Analysts, and support networks. Your role will involve end-user exposure to the SAP FI module and overseeing activity tracking, monitoring, and providing direction to the GL team. Key Responsibilities: - Work with the team and customers to ensure deliveries are on schedule - Review and approve reconciliations, ensuring adherence to Celanese account reconciliation policy - Intervene timely in account problems to prevent financial statement misstatements - Provide guidance and training to Account Reconcilers - Ensure timeliness, correctness, and completeness of account reconciliations - Monitor journal postings for compliance with Celanese policies - Support stakeholders with GL accounting and reconciliations - Drive issue resolution and provide accurate data for decision-making - Train GL reconcilers on systems, policies, and procedures - Implement proactive controls to address issues promptly - Adhere to internal control policies, including SOX compliance - Develop a deep understanding of business processes to support GL activities Qualifications: - MBA, CMA, CA, or CPA with 4-6 years of experience - Ability to build effective relationships with business partners - Strong attention to detail - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint - Technical understanding of accounting principles - Experience in Accounting, Closing, or Business Reporting - Demonstrated ability to drive results,
