Senior Android Developer

As a member of the specialized Android squad at an innovative health-tech platform, your role will involve designing, building, and maintaining high-performance Android apps in Kotlin. You will have the opportunity to work on crafting new modules in Jetpack Compose while also refactoring existing code into clean architecture. Your work will include deep integration with BLE peripherals, secure real-time data sync, offline workflows, custom camera, barcode, and biometrics. You will play a crucial role in influencing architecture, CI/CD, security, and performance right from the beginning. Additionally, you will collaborate globally with experts from the US & EU on coding standards, code reviews, and mobile DevOps, thus adding to your career-accelerating knowledge. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, build, and maintain high-performance Android apps in Kotlin with a focus on Jetpack Compose. - Lead the migration from XML to Jetpack Compose and implement MVVM / Clean Architecture patterns. - Integrate REST/gRPC services, WebSockets, and low-energy Bluetooth devices. - Optimize for battery, memory, accessibility, and security following OWASP MASVS guidelines. - Write unit, UI, and instrumentation tests; advocate for TDD and CI/CD practices (GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps). - Conduct code reviews, mentor mid-level engineers, and enforce style guidelines. - Collaborate with design, backend, and QA teams to achieve sprint goals and compliance requirements. - Contribute to the mobile release pipeline, Play Store deliverables, and post-release monitoring. **Must-Have Skills:** - 5-8 years of Android development experience; with 3+ years in Kotlin and strong Jetpack component knowledge. - Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines / Flow, MVVM, Dagger/Hilt, Room, and WorkManager. - Proficiency in unit/UI testing using JUnit, Espresso, Roboelectric. - Experience in integrating BLE, secure REST/GraphQL APIs, and real-time sockets. - Familiarity with Play Store policies, rollout tracks, and crash analytics tools like Firebase Crashlytics and Sentry. - Strong Git, code review, and Agile-Scrum practices. **Nice-to-Have:** - Exposure to regulated domains such as medical or fintech. - Experience with Flutter or React Native.
