Department Overview

The Institutional DC business comprises of Fidelity's institutional business units in the UK and other parts of Europe and is a strategic area targeted for growth over the coming years. Systems have been acting as the key enablers for the business in achieving their goals. There are several upcoming Iarge and complex institutional projects, e.g. Strategy, PV Migration, and SCV which have been approved as part of the Strawman and require Java as a key skill set. As part of this drive, we need to fill an open position in India with Java skill set.

Job Description

The position is for a senior Analyst programmer for DC to work in partnership with other members of the team and the business areas, to develop, implement and support the web solutions.

Responsibilities will include:

• The developer models and interprets user requirements, and converts them into prototypes and deliverable code, using the business requirements documents and interaction with the technical leads as initial input.
• Develops system code according to the system design and standards. Reviews the developed code
• Develops and execute unit test plans that thoroughly test applications and allow for quality implementations of new or modified applications and reviews results (preferably TDD or BDD)
• Prepares and maintains documentation of applications
• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.

• Working with users to understand user stories, create prototypes and finished coding.
• Creation of other deliverables, such as a class model or a data model.
• Reviewing personal work and that of others.
• Contribution to estimation and solutions.
• Raising issues & risks in a timely fashion.
• The candidate is expected to display professional ethics in his/her approach to work and exhibit a high level ownership within a demanding working environment.

Experience/Qualifications/Personal Qualities:

Necessary Skills are:

• Core Java ( JDK 7/8), Spring Framework (Spring boot, Spring Core, Spring AOP ), Hibernate / Spring JPA, Spring - Restful Services, JSON, XML, HTML5, JQuery, AJAX, CSS3 technologies.
• Basic understanding in Java script technologies like ReactJS.
• Working experience in AWS cloud based services (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Dynamo DB, RDS, SNS, SQS, Cloud Watch, Cloud Trail) including the knowledge around Docker containers.
• Understanding of Object Oriented design with the ability to comfortably navigate around a large Web Application.
• TDD / BDD approach for unit testing.
• Junit, Mockito frameworks for unit testing.
• CI tools like TeamCity, Bamboo etc. and good knowledge in DevOps model.
• Knowledge in Web MVC frameworks like Struts2, Spring MVC.
• Working experience in Oracle/MySql/No Sql DB.
• Working experience in Micro Services Architecture.
• Working experience in SVN/GIT.
• Knowledge around Web Servers and Application servers like Tomcat, Websphere/JBoss/WebLogic.
• Proficiency in code quality frameworks like SONAR and more quality centric approach.
• Good communication skills.
• Team player with flexible, positive and realistic attitude.
• Self-motivated, self-starter, team-player
• Good analytical and problem resolution skills.

Preferable Skills are:

• PAAS - Platform as a Service.
• Experience in integration with REST / Web Service based interface.
• Familiarity with leading Javascript frameworks AngularJS/ VueJS including RxJS
• Swagger documentation for API's.
• Exposure to agile development methodologies like Scrum
• Delivery and results focused
• Ability to work under pressure
