Senior Accountant

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Financial Management

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities and ensure accurate and timely accounting entries.

• Maintain books of accounts, ledgers, journals, receivables and payables.

• Review purchase, sales, expense, bank and journal entries.

• Ensure proper accounting of export sales, purchases, freight, logistics, commissions and other export-related expenses.

• Prepare monthly MIS and financial reports for management.

• Monitor profitability by customer, product and shipment wherever required.

• Coordinate with auditors for statutory, tax and financial audits.

2. Banking & Export Finance ( Preferred , not mandatory )

• Manage day-to-day banking activities and bank reconciliations.

• Monitor export proceeds and ensure timely realisation of foreign currency receivables.

• Coordinate with banks regarding shipping bills, e-BRC, inward remittances, export documentation and forex-related matters.

• Monitor outstanding export receivables and follow up for timely payment.

• Handle foreign currency transactions and accounting, including exchange-rate differences.

• Coordinate with banks for documentation related to export transactions, LC, advance payments and other trade-finance requirements.

• Ensure proper closure and reconciliation of export-related bank entries.

3. GST, TDS & Statutory Compliance

• Ensure timely and accurate GST compliance, including:

o GSTR-1 o GSTR-3B

o Input Tax Credit reconciliation o Export-related GST documentation o

LUT/Bond-related compliance

Manage TDS calculations, payments, returns and reconciliations.

Coordinate with consultants for income-tax and other statutory compliance.

Ensure timely filing of statutory returns and payment of applicable taxes.

• Maintain proper records and documentation for assessments and audits.

4. Accounts Receivable & Payable

• Monitor customer outstanding and ageing.

• Follow up with the sales team for overdue payments.

• Prepare customer-wise receivable reports.

• Verify supplier invoices before payment processing.

• Maintain supplier ageing and payment schedules.

• Ensure payments are made as per approved credit terms and company policies.

• Monitor advances given to suppliers and their subsequent adjustment.

5. Cash Flow & Working Capital

• Prepare and monitor weekly/monthly cash-flow statements.

• Plan vendor payments based on available funds and business priorities.

• Monitor working capital, receivables, payables and inventory-related financial exposure.

• Highlight cash-flow risks to management in advance.

• Support management in financial planning and budgeting.

6. Internal Controls & Process Improvement

• Establish and maintain strong financial controls.

• Ensure proper authorisation for purchases, expenses and payments.

Review accounting processes and identify gaps or risks.

Ensure proper documentation and audit trails for all financial transactions.

Develop and maintain finance SOPs and checklists.

• Identify opportunities for automation and improvement of accounting processes.

7. MIS & Management Reporting

Prepare regular management reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications Education:

• B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / CMA Inter or equivalent qualification.

Experience:

• 5–8 years of relevant experience in accounts and finance.

• Candidates with experience handling export accounting and foreign currency transactions will be preferred.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Tally Prime or equivalent accounting ERP. (Preferable ZOHO)

• Good knowledge of MS Excel.

• Strong understanding of GST and TDS.

• Working knowledge of export accounting and banking processes.

• Understanding of foreign currency accounting.

• Knowledge of RoDTEP, Duty Drawback and export documentation will be an advantage.

What We Expect From This Role

This is not merely a bookkeeping position. The person will be expected to take ownership of the company's Finance & Accounts function and act as a strong financial control point for management.

The candidate should be capable of independently handling the complete cycle from transaction accounting → banking → taxation → export realisation → receivables/payables → MIS → audit → management reporting.

Pay: ₹360,000.00 - ₹480,000.00 per year
