Senior Accountant

Core Accounting Responsibilities

1) Maintain complete books of accounts up to finalization including journal entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments.

2) Verify and process vendor invoices, purchase bills, and ensure all entries are properly classified.

3) Prepare and authorize bank payment files; track UTR updates and reconcile payments.

4) Conduct vendor and customer reconciliations regularly, resolving mismatches proactively.

5) Manage monthly closing activities, trial balance review, and general ledger control.

6) Prepare workings for GST, TDS, and other statutory filings ahead of deadlines.

7) Ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial documentation for audits and compliance.

8) Oversee payroll computation and processing, ensuring accurate accounting of salaries, statutory deductions (PF, ESI, PT), and timely disbursements.

Analytical Reporting

1) Support cash-flow forecasting and daily fund tracking to guide payment prioritization.

2) Handling inter-company accounting, ensuring reconciliations are on schedule.

3) Preparing management dashboards and MIS reporting with financial insights.

Compliance & Control Management

1) Maintain a detailed compliance calendar covering GST, TDS, PF, ESI, PT, and related deadlines.

2) Oversee statutory returns, challan preparation, and reconciliation with ledgers.

3) Maintain robust audit trails for all financial transactions and statutory documents.

4) Liaise with auditors, consultants, and bankers for audits, filings, and financial reviews.

5) Support adherence to internal control standards and ensure data integrity at all levels.

Leadership & Collaboration

1) Supervise and guide junior accountants, review their work, and ensure timely deliverables.

2) Collaborate with cross-functional teams — HR (payroll), Procurement (vendor payments), Operations (cost validation).

3) Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and process discipline within the finance function.

4) Guide and support growth of Juniors for future senior roles
