Sdet Engineer

• Good at Coding (C# is must have with OOPS, Collections Framework etc.)
• Automation Framework understanding (BDD/TDD/Hybrid)
• GIT commands used, Selenium concepts, API testing using tools like Postman/Swagger(automation is an add-on)
• Basic SQL testing using Joins for 2 or more tables.
• API and UI Automation experience must have.
• Agile Methodology, and other related testing concepts with good communication skills.

Minimum 6 years of experience in IT with Automation (minimum 3 years) using Selenium with C# (includes script development and troubleshooting), which will help the candidate to have better understanding/exposure on Basic Programming Concepts (Access Modifiers/loops/conditions, methods, arrays, exception handling), OOPS concepts, Collection Frameworks (advanced like Array list, Hashmap, Hashset, Dictionary etc.,)

• Script synchronization techniques (like waits to ensure less scripts failures), Locators (basically id, name anyone can use but expectation is to create Xpaths using sibling concepts, dynamic texts based Xpaths, CSS selectors etc.,).
• Version Control System like Git is used by client and the candidate should have good understanding of the commands, if there is a situation where they need to work through cmd (instead of the features provided in Visual Studio or Eclipse) and Conflict management in case of code check-in.
• For API testing when manual is considered, the client uses Postman (validation of endpoint URLs) and Swagger (Documentation/ reference) tool where in the candidate should be aware of different Authorization Techniques, HTTP methods (CRUD) and Status codes based on the method/ in case of errors for both client/ servers. API Automation using RestSharp along with BDD Specflow.
• Db testing is writing simple queries (with joins) based on project needs to join 3 or more tables and extract data to validate.
• Good communication skills (both written/oral) are mandatory for them to handle the calls/questions from client independently.

Sr SDET: Along with the above details (of an SDET for skills) a Sr SDET should have:

• Exp of 9 plus in IT with minimum 5 years in Automation using Selenium with C#.

• Good understanding of Design Patterns like Singleton, SOLID Principles along with POM.

• Experience in Core Framework design and development from scratch (at least in one or two projects).

Lead SDET (includes SDET and Sr SDET criteria for skills):

• Exp of 12 plus in IT with minimum 8 years in Automation using Selenium with C#.

• Should be able to take up work delegation, review and reporting of work.

• Should be able to handle code reviews for the team and mentor the team on technical aspects.
