SDE 2 - Backend

You are a high-performing and curious Senior Software Engineer who excels in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about contributing to the development of robust, scalable systems. You will be involved in working on core services that power our platform, tackling meaningful technical challenges that have a direct impact on real users on a daily basis. Your responsibilities will include designing, building, and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable backend services. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be key to delivering new features while ensuring stability and performance. Your coding practices will follow OOP principles and design patterns. You will work with REST APIs, background workers, and message queues like Kafka, and manage database design and queries, focusing on schema optimization and performance tuning. Additionally, you will contribute to system architecture discussions, engage in peer code reviews, and troubleshoot and resolve production issues in time-sensitive situations. To excel in this role, you should have 3-5 years of professional software development experience and possess solid knowledge of at least one core backend language, such as Node.js or Java. A strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming, as well as familiarity with software design principles and design patterns (e.g., factory, singleton, observer, etc.), are essential. Experience with databases, both relational and NoSQL (with MongoDB as a plus), along with proficiency in version control (Git) and working with RESTful APIs, is required. Any additional experience with MongoDB, Kafka, or Elasticsearch is considered a bonus. Exposure to microservices architecture, distributed systems, and caching strategies is advantageous. Experience in agile teams and startups, with a willingness to take end-to-end ownership, is valued. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization tools like Docker, and cloud deployment on AWS is also beneficial.
