Job Description

As a Scientist in Metabolic Engineering, you will play a crucial role in designing, constructing, and optimizing microbial and eukaryotic hosts for various applications in health, food, environment, and sustainable biomanufacturing. Your responsibilities will include: - Engineering prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms to produce high-value molecules, enzymes, and biomaterials. - Designing, building, and optimizing heterologous metabolic pathways with genetic engineering, CRISPR, and synthetic biology toolkits. - Applying systems biology and computational modeling to guide strain design and pathway optimization. - Conducting multi-omics analyses (transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, fluxomics) to identify bottlenecks and enhance yields. - Integrating high-throughput screening and automation to expedite strain development. - Collaborating with bioinformatics, AI, and bioprocess engineering teams to validate engineered pathways. - Mentoring junior researchers and contributing to teaching/training in synthetic biology and metabolic engineering. To qualify for this role, you should have: - A PhD in Synthetic Biology, Metabolic Engineering, Microbiology, Biochemical Engineering, Molecular Biology, or a related field. - Strong expertise in prokaryotic and eukaryotic systems. - Hands-on experience in CRISPR/Cas genome editing, pathway construction, strain optimization, and high-throughput workflows. - Proven ability to analyze and interpret omics datasets for strain improvement. - Familiarity with bioprocess scale-up, fermentation strategies, and industrial biotech applications. - A track record of publications, patents, or demonstrated impact in metabolic engineering projects. - Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills (both written and verbal), and the ability to work effectively in a team with a high degree of independence and initiative.
