Big Data Engineer

with strong expertise in

Scala and Spark

to design, develop, and optimize large-scale data processing applications. The role involves working in an agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring efficient, reliable, and high-performing data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain data processing applications using Spark and Scala.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and design efficient solutions.
Implement test-driven deployment practices for high-quality delivery.
Deploy artifacts from lower to higher environments, ensuring smooth transitions.
Troubleshoot and debug Spark performance issues to optimize data processing.
Work in an Agile/Scrum setup, participating in sprint planning, development, and timely delivery.
Provide production batch support, identify critical issues, and apply quick fixes.

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of Scala programming language.
Proven expertise in Apache Spark development and performance optimization.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to troubleshoot and debug Spark jobs for performance improvements.
Good understanding of design patterns and data structures for efficient data processing.
Familiarity with database concepts and SQL.
Knowledge of DevOps practices (good to have).
