Scala Backend Engineer

The Scala Backend Engineer position in Pune requires a candidate with 4-8 years of experience and an immediate to 30 days" notice period. As a Scala Developer with expertise in Akka Streams and Microservices, you will be an integral part of the core development team. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and delivering microservices-based solutions using Scala and Akka, implementing event-driven architectures with Akka Streams, GRPC, and Protocol Buffers, and following Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices. You will collaborate with teams using tools like Jira and Confluence, work with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native concepts for deployment, and support automation through scripting (Batch, Bash). Additionally, you will contribute to CI/CD pipelines and ensure smooth deployments on cloud platforms, preferably AWS. Key requirements for this role include hands-on Scala development experience, strong expertise with Akka Framework and Akka Streams, and familiarity with event-driven microservices architectures. Knowledge of GRPC, Protocol Buffers, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native apps, AWS (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), and basic understanding of Ansible and Terraform are essential. Proficiency in Batch and Bash scripting, along with soft skills like problem-solving and effective communication, are also crucial. Good-to-have skills include Python scripting experience, exposure to Behavior Driven Development (BDD), integration and unit testing best practices, deploying applications on AWS, familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, and awareness of message brokers like Kafka and RabbitMQ. Preferred certifications such as AWS Certified Developer/Architect and Lightbend Akka Certification are optional but beneficial. The interview process consists of 2 technical rounds and 1 client round, with a hybrid work mode requiring 3 days in the office.
