The SAP ABAP HANA Developer designs, builds, and optimizes custom solutions on SAP systems leveraging ABAP with the SAP HANA database. The role focuses on code pushdown using CDS Views and AMDP/SQLScript, and exposing business logic via OData services for UI and integrations. The developer collaborates with functional consultants to translate requirements into performant, maintainable code aligned with S/4HANA best practices. Responsibilities include performance tuning, enhancements (BAdIs/user exits), testing, documentation, and transport management across system landscapes.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development on SAP HANA
• Strong ABAP OO and Data Dictionary expertise
• Experience creating CDS Views with annotations (e.g., @OData.publish, authorization)
• Experience implementing AMDP methods and SQLScript for code pushdown
• Building and registering OData services (SEGW or CDS publish) and working with SAP Gateway
• Performance analysis and optimization using SQL Monitor (SQLM), ST05, SAT/ATC/SCI
• Experience with enhancements: BADI, user-exits, enhancement spots; BAPI usage
• Familiarity with S/4HANA simplifications and data models
• Tools: Eclipse ADT, SAP GUI; Transport management (CTS)
• Integration exposure: IDoc/RFC; basic Fiori/annotation understanding
• Strong debugging, unit testing practices, and documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Design and develop ABAP on HANA solutions with efficient data models, CDS Views, and AMDP methods
• Expose and maintain OData services to support UI (e.g., Fiori) and integrations
• Apply code pushdown and performance best practices; analyze and tune using SQLM, ST05, SAT
• Implement enhancements via BADIs, user exits, and enhancement spots; consume and wrap BAPIs
• Collaborate with functional teams to clarify requirements and produce technical designs
• Write unit tests, perform code reviews, run ATC/SCI checks, and maintain documentation
• Manage transports across DEV/QA/PROD and support defect triage and production issues
• Contribute to S/4HANA projects and adopt simplification-guided designs
