Salesforce DevOps Engineer

Role Title: DevOps Engineer, Salesforce with QA Automation Experience

Role Overview
The DevOps Engineer owns CI and CD, release management, and quality automation for Salesforce Core, Healthcare and Life Sciences Cloud, and Data Cloud supporting a United States based online pharmacy. The role designs and operates pipelines, environment strategies, and automated tests that enable frequent, safe releases in a regulated environment handling PHI and prescription data. It requires balancing speed, stability, and compliance using structured reasoning.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Salesforce CI and CD pipelines using Git and DevOps tools such as GitHub or Azure DevOps and Salesforce DevOps tooling.
• Define branching and release strategies that support multiple workstreams and reduce deployment risk.
• Own sandbox and environment strategy including refresh cadence, data seeding, and alignment with validation and UAT cycles.
• Automate deployments of configuration and code with quality gates for unit tests, static analysis, and automated regression tests.
• Partner with QA and validation teams to identify high value regression scenarios and integrate test automation into pipelines.
• Implement test data strategies that protect PHI while supporting realistic automated and manual testing.
• Apply DevSecOps practices for credential management, secure configuration, and logging to support HIPAA and internal security policies.
• Support change control and audits by ensuring pipelines and releases produce appropriate evidence and traceability.
• Lead post release incident reviews and drive improvements to pipelines, processes, and standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least four years in DevOps, release engineering, or similar roles, with at least two on Salesforce.
• Hands on experience implementing CI and CD pipelines for Salesforce, including automated deployments and quality gates.
• Experience with UI and API test automation concepts and integration of automated tests into pipelines.
• Familiarity with healthcare, life sciences, or pharmacy environments and HIPAA or PHI handling concepts.
• Ability to explain tradeoffs between speed, stability, and compliance to both technical and non technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Salesforce Healthcare and Life Sciences Cloud and Salesforce Data Cloud.
• Exposure to Salesforce Service Cloud and telephony or contact center integrations.
• Experience with configuration as code and infrastructure as code concepts.
• Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer One, Administrator, or DevOps related credentials.
• Experience supporting validation and audits in regulated environments.
