Sales Tax Analyst

Roles & Responsibilities. (But not limited to..)

Prepare and submit state wise indirect taxes returns and related filings on timely basis.

Reconcile sales and use tax collected to the GL and upload to the reporting system.

Serve as a primary contact for Indirect Tax inquiries.

Prepare and review state tax refund requests.

Manage responses to indirect tax notices and audit requests.

Sales tax department compliance requirements met and ensure all deadlines are being met.

Validate customer exemption certificates and issue certificates to vendors.

Responsible for amendments, creating journal entries, and responding to tax notices in a timely manner with required research and analysis.

Preparation of federal forms 1099, 1098, and state 941 forms

Support on sales/use tax audits initiated by state/local tax authorities with emphasis on most favourable resolutions including initiating protests, as required.

Order review to ensure proper tax application (Sales, Use).

Assist with customer and vendor inquiries related to sales tax refund assignment forms, tax credit memorandum, sales tax audit requests.

Resolve post-sale tax and tax exemption issues;

Help customers to establish sales tax exemption and help them on new changes need.

Proactively work with customers to address sales tax exemptions as they near expiration.

Oversee the maintenance of customer sales and use tax permits.

Assist with responding to tax inquiries from various jurisdictions.

Analysis and review of the Federal estimated tax payment.
