Identify, develop and execute strategies to acquire new secured business loan customers (assetbacked, propertybacked, equipment financed, etc.).
Source leads (direct, referral, channel) and convert into credit proposals.
Build and maintain strong relationships with referral partners, brokers, dealers, channel networks, DSAs, etc.
Work with marketing, digital, field teams to generate new business volume, and meet / exceed monthly/quarterly/yearly business targets.
Analyse market segments, competition, offerings and propose gotomarket plans, pricing, incentives.
Ensure endtoend processing of secured business loan applications - from lead to disbursement, in coordination with credit/underwriting, documentation, legal, risk, operations teams.
Verify that collateral / security/backup documentation is in place, valuations done, asset registrations, legal checks completed.
Monitor portfolio quality: early delinquency, asset performance, covenant compliance, security coverage, recovery risk.
Liaise with internal stakeholders (risk, operations, collections) for smooth workflow and compliance with policies & regulatory requirements.
Develop and manage channel networks/referral partners for secured business loans - recruit, train, monitor performance, ensure lead quality, compliance.
Manage relationships with external vendors or agencies (valuers, legal/registration services) essential for secured asset lending.
Collaborate with branch/territory/business teams to ensure sourcing, turnaround time (TAT), disbursement efficiency and customer experience.
Track and report on key metrics: book size, disbursement volume, yield/margin, asset quality (NPA, repossession rates, early defaults), TAT, cost of acquisition.
Identify early warning signs (asset undercoverage, delinquency, collateral issues), work with collections or legal where required.
Drive process improvements: reduce turnaround time, enhance customer onboarding, improve collateral/security processes.
Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory guidelines, assetliability and securedloan specific regulations (property registration, charge creation, asset repossession, insurance etc.).
Maintain documentation standards, audit readiness, manage risk of fraud, collusion, misrepresentation.
Ensure KYC, AML, document verification and periodic review processes are followed.
Depending on the scale, lead a small team of business development/sales officers, channel managers or referral partner managers. Provide direction, training, performance management.
Foster a customercentric mindset, ensure high quality sourcing and adherence to standards.
Qualifications & SkillsGraduate or Postgraduate in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance or related discipline (MBA preferred for senior roles).
Typically 5-8 years (or more, depending on scale) of experience in secured business lending, assetbacked finance, business banking, NBFC/Bank, commercial lending.
Strong experience in sourcing, structuring secured loans (property, equipment, business assets), understanding collateral/asset valuation, legal/security creation.
Demonstrated track record of meeting business targets, building/refining partnerships/channels, managing portfolio quality.
Strong analytical skills - comfortable reading financial statements, asset valuations, risk analysis, margins and profitability.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, negotiation skills.
Proficiency in CRM, leadmanagement, MS Office understanding of lending systems.
Result orientation, selfdriven, ability to work in a targetdriven environment, manage multiple stakeholders (sales, credit, legal, operations).
High integrity, ethics, customer focus and compliance mindset.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Volume of disbursements of secured business loans (monthly/quarterly/annual).
AUM (Assets Under Management) growth in the secured business loan portfolio.
Yield/margin on secured loans - spread, incremental business profit.
Portfolio quality metrics: delinquency/early default rate, NPA, repossession/troubled asset rate.
Turnaround time (TAT) from lead to sanction to disbursement.
Cost of acquisition and conversion rate (leads disbursals).
Growth and performance of channel/referral partners (number of active partners, sourcing volume, lead quality).
Compliance and audit metrics (standards of documentation, charge registration, collateral cover adequacy, fraud incidence).
Customer satisfaction / experience metrics (onboarding, servicing).
