Sales Engineer

Job Objective

To develop and grow business in UPS batteries, battery replacement, and power backup solutions by acquiring new customers, managing existing accounts, and generating sales opportunities across commercial and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Development

• Generate new business opportunities for UPS batteries and battery replacement.
• Promote batteries for UPS systems, inverters, and power backup applications.
• Develop customers in IT companies, data centers, hospitals, banks, industries, commercial buildings, and corporate offices.
• Identify opportunities for battery replacement in existing UPS installations.
• Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.

2. Customer Management

• Build and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers.
• Conduct customer visits, meetings, and follow-ups.
• Understand customer requirements related to UPS battery backup, capacity, and replacement.
• Prepare quotations and commercial proposals.
• Follow up on quotations, negotiations, purchase orders, and payments.

3. Technical & Coordination

• Coordinate with the technical/service team for battery surveys and site inspections.
• Collect battery specifications, quantities, voltage, Ah ratings, and UPS model details.
• Coordinate with the sales coordinator for order processing and delivery.
• Ensure proper communication between customers and internal departments.

4. Market Development

• Identify potential battery replacement projects and AMC opportunities.
• Develop contacts with consultants, contractors, facility managers, and purchase departments.
• Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and market trends.
• Maintain customer database and sales pipeline in CRM.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Graduate or Diploma preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in UPS, battery, electrical, or power backup sales.
• Knowledge of UPS batteries, VRLA, SMF, tubular, and lithium batteries preferred.
• Good communication, negotiation, and customer relationship skills.
• Ability to generate leads and close sales independently.
• Familiarity with MS Excel, CRM, and quotation preparation.
• Willingness to travel for customer visits.

Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Monthly sales revenue and gross margin.
• Number of new customers acquired.
• Battery replacement business generated.
• Customer visits and qualified leads.
• Quotation conversion ratio.
• Customer follow-up and collection performance.

Compensation

Salary: As per experience and company policy
Incentives: Performance-based sales incentives

Preferred Candidate: A result-oriented sales professional with experience in UPS batteries and power backup solutions.

Pay: ₹11,000.00 - ₹44,000.00 per month
