Job Description

Job Role & Responsibility:

  • Support the development of OHS policies and programs
  • Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.)
  • Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures
  • Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation
  • Initiate and organize OHS training of employees and executives
  • Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment)
  • Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
  • Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy
  • Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
  • Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management
  • Identify and assess hazards, risks and control measures for a specific operation or process.
  • Conduct ongoing review of operations and processes to identify potential hazards, risks and control measures that should be implemented to reduce these risks, including all costs involved in implementing such measures.
  • Assess and document hazards, risks and controls in a manner consistent with established procedures and practices.
  • Set up and supervising temporary work areas.
  • Supervise the safe handling, storage & disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Supervise the operation of any potential hazards in the workplace.
  • Ensure that all company employees meet all standard OHSMS requirements.
  • Provide training if necessary.
  • Ensure that health, safety, and environmental policies are followed.
  • Investigate workplace accidents and injuries and refer them to the proper authorities.

Educational Qualification

Diploma in electrical / safety management or Degree/ P G Diploma in occupational safety, health or environment management from a recognized University/Institution

Personal Profile

Diploma in electrical / safety management or Degree/ P G Diploma in occupational safety, health or environment management from a recognized University/Institution with 2 to 5yrs Experience in Manufacturing company

Specific Knowledge

  • Proven experience as safety officer
  • In depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA) and procedures
  • Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
  • Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
  • Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus

Key Competence

  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Diligent with great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics
  • Should have known Kannada Language

Job Type: Contractual / Temporary

Pay: ₹11,253.97 - ₹44,626.55 per month
