Position: Safety Officer

Location: Saudi Arabia

Industry: Oil & Gas / Petrochemical / Construction / Industrial Projects

Experience: Gulf experience preferred (KSA & Aramco projects are an advantage)

Role Overview

The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by implementing safety policies, conducting inspections, training workers, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements. The role demands strong safety knowledge, documentation skills, and the ability to enforce safety measures at site.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and safety guidelines on site.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training for workers.
• Perform routine site inspections and identify unsafe acts/conditions.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and client HSE standards (Aramco/OSHA/NEBOSH).
• Prepare incident/accident reports and assist in root cause analysis.
• Maintain safety documentation, permits, checklists, and risk assessments.
• Monitor the use of PPE and ensure availability and proper usage by workforce.
• Coordinate emergency response drills and ensure preparedness.
• Report non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions.
• Support management in developing and improving safety culture.
• Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure safety compliance.

Requirements

• B.Tech / BE / Diploma in Engineering (any discipline).
• NEBOSH / OSHA / IOSH certification mandatory or preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years experience in HSE roles (Gulf experience preferred).
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Industrial projects.
• Knowledge of Aramco safety standards is a strong advantage.
• Good understanding of risk assessment, PTW (Permit to Work), LOTO, JSA, JHA.
• Strong communication skills (English mandatory).
• Ability to handle pressure and manage emergency situations.
