Routing and Switching Network Engineer

As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise-level routing and switching infrastructure from vendors such as Cisco and Juniper. Your key responsibilities will include: - Designing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise-level routing and switching infrastructure (Cisco, Juniper, etc.). - Performing network upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting. - Managing routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP. - Configuring and maintaining VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, and other Layer 2 technologies. - Monitoring network performance and performing capacity planning. - Conducting network diagnostics and resolving hardware, software, and other network issues. - Ensuring network security through proper configurations and monitoring tools. - Documenting network configurations, changes, and procedures. - Collaborating with other IT staff and departments on network integration and optimization. - Supporting network automation and scripting initiatives (e.g., Python, Ansible is a plus). Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). - 8+ years of experience in routing and switching roles. - Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, and Layer 2/3 network principles. - Hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches (or equivalent). - Experience with enterprise routing protocols (OSPF, BGP). - Proficiency in troubleshooting tools like Wireshark, ping, traceroute. Preferred qualifications for this role are: - Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP). - Experience with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios). - Knowledge of network security practices, including ACLs and firewalls. - Exposure to SDN (Software Defined Networking) technologies. - Familiarity with ITIL processes.,
