As a Senior Software Engineer for the Roku Player team, your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality applications for Roku devices to deliver exceptional OTT streaming experiences. You will utilize your expertise in BrightScript, Scene Graph XML, and the Roku SDK to build robust and scalable solutions. Your key focus areas will be on digital transformation, enterprise AI, data & analytics, and product engineering to drive innovation and value for clients. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, develop, and maintain applications for Roku players using BrightScript, Scene Graph XML, and the Roku SDK. - Implement and optimize video streaming functionalities to ensure smooth playback and high performance. - Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement new features. - Integrate with third-party libraries and APIs, including analytics and advertising platforms. - Write clean, well-documented, and testable code adhering to best practices and coding standards. - Conduct thorough unit testing and regression testing using RATF (Roku Automated Test Framework). - Debug and resolve complex technical issues to ensure application stability and reliability. - Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process. - Stay up to date with the latest Roku platform developments and technologies. **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. - 5 years of experience in software development. - Proven experience developing applications with BrightScript and Scene Graph XML. - Strong understanding of the Roku SDK and its capabilities. - Experience in creating applications for Roku players. - Solid understanding of software development principles and design patterns (e.g., MVC, MVVM). - Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git). - Proficiency in unit testing and automated testing. - Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills. - Strong written and verbal communication skills.
