(RN) Per Diem Registered Nurse - Emergency Dept

As a Per Diem Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at UC San Diego Health, you will be an integral part of the East Campus Emergency Services team at East Campus Medical Center. Your hourly rate will be $86.55, with a 20% appointment percentage under the NX Contract union. Your role will involve autonomous nursing care, where you will assess and provide appropriate nursing interventions based on your expertise and knowledge, in alignment with ANA Standards of Practice. In this position, you will be responsible for identifying and implementing nursing interventions for various patient populations, working under general supervision. Collaboration with interdisciplinary team members, promoting policy compliance, and fostering trust in professional relationships are key aspects of your role. Minimum qualifications include being a graduate of an accredited Nursing school, holding a Registered Nurse (RN) license in California, and possessing BLS/CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Additionally, you should have at least two years of recent Emergency Room RN experience, strong clinical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating empathy and kindness to both colleagues and patients. Preferred qualifications include a BSN and relevant specialty certifications such as CEN or TNCC. As a per diem nurse, you will be required to work an average of one shift per week, including weekends and holidays based on the department's needs. Flexibility in working various hours, shifts, and locations is essential. If selected, you may be hired at the CNIII level pending approval by the Nurse Executive Council.
