Role Overview: - As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room at Methodist Medical Center, you will work alongside a dedicated team to provide care to a diverse range of patients with varying levels of acuity. The emergency department consists of a 38-bed unit with specialized trauma and behavioral rooms, ensuring efficient delivery of urgent care. Collaboration with board-certified physicians and local EMS providers is prioritized, fostering a teamwork-driven approach in a challenging healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities: - Assess and address the physiological and psycho-social needs of each patient under your care. - Develop individualized nursing care plans with measurable goals to align with medical plans and meet accepted standards. - Make appropriate assignments to team members based on patient acuity, ensuring accountability for their actions and compliance with hospital policies and procedures. - Participate in orientation programs for new personnel and assist in facilitating learning experiences for nursing students. - Regularly document and revise patient care plans with a focus on infection control measures to ensure safety for patients, staff, and visitors. Qualifications Required: - Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a solid understanding of the nursing process, management principles, and current healthcare developments. - Knowledge of hospital functions, policies, and regulations related to nursing service. - Experience in emergency care or a related specialty is preferred. - Hold a current Registered Nurse license from the Tennessee Board of Nursing. - Certification in life support programs such as CPR, ACLS, and NALS is required or scheduled for training as per department guidelines.,
