2. Level 1 Resource Source Code Review (SCR)

Job Summary

The Source Code Review (SCR) Professional is responsible for performing comprehensive security and quality assessments of application source code to identify vulnerabilities, coding errors, and compliance issues. The role ensures adherence to secure coding standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements, supporting the organization in building robust and secure software systems.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct detailed manual and automated reviews of application source code to identify security vulnerabilities, logic flaws, and performance issues.
Perform static application security testing (SAST) using industry tools (e.g., Checkmarx, Fortify, SonarQube, Veracode).
Prepare clear and comprehensive code review reports outlining findings, severity, impact, and recommended remediation.
Collaborate with development teams to explain security issues and provide guidance on secure coding best practices.
Ensure compliance with OWASP, CERT, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, and other secure coding frameworks.
Participate in threat modeling and secure design reviews when required.
Support continuous improvement of the secure development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.
Track and verify remediation of identified issues and ensure closure within timelines.
Assist in training developers on secure coding standards and secure design principles.
Stay updated with emerging vulnerabilities, zero-day threats, and secure coding technologies.
