Research Scientist - Solid State Electrolyte

As a Solid-State Battery Scientist-Electrolytes at our company, you will play a crucial role in the design, scale-up, and integration of solid-state battery technologies. Your focus will be on translating lab-scale innovation into manufacturable solutions through hands-on experimentation and collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and optimize solid-state electrolytes (oxide, polymer, or composite) and integrate them with electrodes for scalable manufacturing. - Lead process development for slurry preparation, coating, densification, and cell assembly with emphasis on reproducibility and cost-effectiveness. - Conduct electrochemical performance evaluation to benchmark against industrial standards, including cycling, rate capability, safety, and interfacial stability. - Collaborate with process engineers to transition materials and processes from lab to pilot-scale production. - Support intellectual property (IP) generation through patents and technical documentation. - Provide technical input for collaborations with suppliers, customers, and external partners. - Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards in all lab and pilot-scale activities. Qualifications: - PhD in Electrochemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline. - Proven experience in solid-state battery development with expertise in material optimization and cell integration. - Hands-on expertise in electrode-electrolyte interfaces, cell assembly (coin/pouch), and electrochemical testing. - Strong background in process development and scale-up of solid-state materials or electrodes. - Excellent skills in data analysis, technical reporting, and cross-functional collaboration. Preferred Qualifications: - Industry experience in battery manufacturing or energy storage. - Familiarity with pilot-line operations, coating technologies, and dry/wet processing methods. - Knowledge of supply chain requirements for solid-state battery materials. - Experience in contributing to IP, tech transfer, or commercialization projects.
