The primary focus of this position will involve conducting research activities under Plaksha Oncology research initiative, The proposed SENTINEL initiative is designed as a direct extension of this earlier work, transforming the foundational progress in AI-driven diagnostics, digital pathology, and omics integration into a comprehensive translational oncology program. Building on the comparative omics analyses of BCGA/TCGA datasets and rare disease cohorts, this thrust aims to create a computational experimental engine for systematic biomarker discovery and validation. It will specifically target cancers and resistance mechanisms, linking back to earlier SNP signal identification but pushing forward to validated biomarkers for therapeutic targeting and early detection

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Carrying out various research activities associated within the project.

Create and maintain bioinformatics pipelines using platforms for reproducible workflows.

Work with available datasets and new clinical datasets as and when arrive under this project.

Stay up to date on the latest advancements in the field of omics and actively seek opportunities to incorporate new technologies into the workflow.

Work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with clinical and research teams to ensure accurate data collection and analysis.

Communicate scientific findings clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

Prepare high-quality reports and presentations for internal and external audiences.

Train UG students for their undergraduate research programs; help conduct workshops if any as part of Outreach or academic activities.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

PhD degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, or allied areas with an excellent academic record.

Must be familiar with computational genomics, molecular modeling software, biomolecular simulations, and bioinformatics. Experience in programming languages such as Python, R with AI/ML experience.

EXPERIENCE AND SPECIALIZATION WITH SKILL SETS

Must be efficient with computational biology techniques, preferably omics , molecular modeling.

Exposure to experimental biochemical techniques is desirable.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently, with strong teamwork skills and a collaborative spirit.

Experience in programming languages such as Python, R, for automating workflow.

Post-PhD research experience of at least a year is desirable
