Research and Development Executive - Silicone Extrusions

You will play a crucial role as a Research and Development Executive at UMABOND, a leading manufacturer of high-quality rubber and silicone products. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around developing new products, optimizing production processes, and setting up efficient production lines. Here's what you can expect in this role: **Key Responsibilities:** - **Product Development:** - Design and develop various rubber and silicone products such as tubes, hoses, FBD gaskets, profiles, and molded components. - Innovate and optimize compounding formulations to meet specific application requirements. - Conduct trials and validations to ensure product quality, durability, and compliance with industry standards. - **Production Line Setup:** - Plan, design, and implement production lines for manufacturing rubber and silicone products. - Identify, source, and oversee the installation of necessary machinery and equipment. - Ensure smooth integration of production lines into the overall manufacturing workflow. - **Process Optimization:** - Develop and implement efficient manufacturing processes to enhance productivity and reduce waste. - Address production-related challenges to maintain smooth operations. - **Tooling and Machinery Maintenance:** - Design and maintain molds, dies, jigs, and fixtures for production. - Ensure machinery functions properly and recommend upgrades when needed. - **Research & Innovation:** - Stay abreast of industry trends, advanced materials, and emerging technologies in rubber and silicone manufacturing. - Drive R&D initiatives to create new products and enhance existing ones. - **Documentation & Reporting:** - Maintain detailed records of formulations, process trials, equipment specifications, and production workflows. - Provide regular reports on project progress, production efficiency, and innovation outcomes to the CEO. - **Collaboration:** - Collaborate closely with production, quality assurance, and sales teams to align R&D efforts with company goals. - Offer technical support for troubleshooting and process improvement across departments. **Required Skills & Qualifications:** - Proven experience in developing rubber and silicone products like tubes, hoses, FBD gaskets, profiles, and molded components. - Expertise in setting up production lines, machinery selection, installation, and optimization. - Strong knowledge of rubber compounding, silicone extrusion, molding processes, and tooling design. - Ability to effectively troubleshoot production and machinery-related issues. - Strong project management skills with a focus on meeting timelines and quality standards. - Degree/Diploma in Polymer Science, Rubber Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. In this role, you will work from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM with a 1-hour lunch break at UMABOND Workshop in C.T.M., Ahmedabad. The probation period is 3 months.
