Release Manager II

As a Release Engineering Manager in the HERE NDS Team, your primary responsibility will be to deliver the Map Compilation product, which creates the most comprehensive high-definition live map in the market. This map is intended to support precise navigation for self-driving cars. You will enable the team to execute highly time-bound map deliveries and pipelines to support multiple customers. It is expected that team and personnel administration will take up to 25-30% of your time as a Release Manager. Your role will involve communicating with leadership regarding progress against plans, addressing issues, and managing risks. As a team leader and effective people manager, you are expected to excel in technical discussions, be a subject matter expert, and have strategic influence. Collaboration with internal customers and stakeholders to coordinate map releases and ensure timely deliveries will be a key aspect of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will be required to perform technical reviews, spend time and effort on hiring top talent, coaching and developing team members, bringing consistency in practices and processes across the multi-tiered architecture, and improving software maturity standards within the team. Mentoring junior engineers and ensuring adherence to documented software development processes and software quality standards will also be essential. You are an ideal candidate for this role if you possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields, have at least 10 years of experience in the relevant software or internet service industry supporting high availability environments, and hold 3+ years of release delivery and people management experience. Hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, expertise in GitLab advanced usage & administrative skills, Artifactory & Maven, continuous integration & continuous delivery using GitLab, managing multiple releases within challenging timelines, and utilizing monitoring and trending systems are highly preferred.
