Job Overview : The System Engineering Team Lead will oversee the system design, project management, and product approval processes for our electric vehicle charger department. This role requires a deep understanding of system engineering principles, expertise in project tracking, and a robust background in design reviews and product certifications. The candidate will have 12 to 20 years of experience in these areas, with familiarity with NABL labs, global certification bodies such as ARAI, ICAT, UL, TUV, and documentation standards likeAutomotive Industry Standards (AIS). Key Responsibilities: 1. System Design & Development: The candidate will have a solid foundation in electrical and electronics principlesAnd should have a thorough understanding of electric vehicle chargers. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential to address complex technical issues. Well-Versed in Technical Aspects of Field Projects, Including Product Knowledge and Site Conditions Experience with the technical aspects of field projects, including detailed product knowledge and site conditions, is crucial. Effective communication with clients to assess their needs and explain complex technical concepts is essential. Ability to Work in Adverse Weather and Occasional Overtime and Weekends/The role requires the ability to work in adverse weather conditions and be available for occasional overtime and weekends. Understanding and Segregation of Existing and New Technologies Based on Customer/Tender The candidate should be adept at differentiating between existing and emerging technologies based on customer requirements and tenders. Keep Track of Industry Charging Standards and Protocols and Create/Modify Charging Modes. Competitors' Products Benchmarking and Documentation. Staying up to date with industry charging standards and protocols, creating or modifying charging modes, and proficiency in benchmarking competitors' products and maintaining detailed documentation are also important. Bringing down business and market needs to detailed system and subsystem/component requirements and design concepts. Preparation of compliance / RFQ documents for clients. Product management with cross-functionality team. Prepare and manage the charger and charging management system (CMS) requirement. Work on new function advancement related to the charger and charging management system (CMS). CMS integration and validation with a different type of charger. Support customers for FAT at field trials. Field issues support at the initial phase. To ensure timely updates of all processes / functional documentation. 2. Project Management and design Review. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including tracking progress, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Conduct comprehensive design reviews, providing critical feedback and ensuring that all design aspects align with project goals and industry standards. Facilitate collaboration between engineering teams, R&D and the NPI to address design challenges and optimize solutions up to mass production . 3. Product Approval, Certification&Documentation & Compliance: Oversee the product approval process in compliance with NABL labs and global certification bodies such as ARAI, ICAT, UL, and TUV. Ensure that all products meet required standards and obtain necessary certifications for market readiness. Develop and maintain detailed documentation as per AISstandards, including design records, project reports, and compliance documentation. Ensure that all engineering documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible. Keep track of industry charging standards and protocols and create charging protocols for the company. Execution of all product lifecycle processes for products, including product research, market research. 4. Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and support the engineering team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Provide technical guidance and support to team members, promoting professional development and skill enhancement. 5. Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including internal NPI,SCM, Sales teams, customers, and certification bodies. Communicate project status, challenges, and solutions effectively to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
