Role Overview: As a Regulatory Control Senior Advisor - Subject Matter Expert (SME) at AVP level within the Sanction Alert Investigations team in Bangalore, India, you will have a crucial role in safeguarding the institution against financial crime risks. Your responsibilities will include leading the triage, analysis, and resolution of sanctions-related alerts to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant investigations in alignment with global regulatory expectations and internal governance frameworks. Your role will require a sharp analytical mind, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate complex geopolitical and regulatory landscapes, making you a key contributor to the institution's reputation for integrity and resilience. Key Responsibilities: - Alert Review & Triage: - Apply risk-based analysis to determine true matches vs. false positives and take appropriate follow-up actions. - Regulatory Compliance: - Ensure investigations comply with OFAC, UN, EU, UK HMT, and other applicable sanctions regimes. - Escalate sensitive hits to relevant stakeholders and provide support for regulatory reporting. - Governance & Documentation: - Maintain high-quality investigative records and audit trails. - Contribute to management information (MI) reporting and trend analysis for senior management and governance forums. - Stakeholder Engagement: - Liaise with internal teams (e.g., Legal, Compliance, Operations) to resolve complex cases. - Support training and awareness initiatives across the business. - Continuous Improvement: - Identify process enhancements and contribute to system tuning efforts. - Stay updated on evolving sanctions regulations and geopolitical developments. Qualifications Required: - Proven experience in sanctions investigations, AML, or financial crime compliance. - Understanding of global sanctions regimes and screening technologies. - Excellent analytical, decision-making, and communication skills. - Familiarity with screening systems is a plus. - Ability to manage competing priorities in a high-pressure environment.
