Registered Nurse

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Shall report to the Nursing Superintendent directly and on issues of administration shall report to Director through the Nursing Superintendent.

2. Shall be directly under the control and supervision of Nursing Superintendent.

3. Shall render direct nursing care to the sick patient as assigned by the Nursing Superintendent.

4. Shall ensure comfort of the patient.

5. Shall educate the patient according to the need.

6. Shall help the ambulatory patients according to their need.

7. Shall maintain treatment records, medicines, injections etc.

8. Shall maintain nurses report.

9. Shall give report to the Nursing Superintendent regarding patients.

10. Shall be responsible for house keeping of the ward.

11. Shall administer all the drugs according to standing orders of the hospital.

12. Shall ensure sending of laboratory specimens for investigations.

13. Shall advise patients to take proper care of their personal belongings.

14. Shall render pre-operative and post-operative care.

15. Shall take rounds with doctors and report the patients’ condition.

16. Shall maintain various charts, eg. intake, output chart, drainage etc.

17. Shall maintain liaison with patients’ relations and give them correct information regarding the patients.

18. Shall assist doctors in carrying out treatments eg. blood transfusion etc.

19. Shall, if possible and feasible, help to solve the mental and emotional problems of patients.

20. Shall ensure cleanliness and sanitation of her unit.

21. Shall ensure proper sterilization and disinfection of the equipment according to the requirement.

22. Shall maintain sub stock (drugs, linen etc).

23. Shall render adequate death care including adequate reporting, recording, handling and dealing with the patients’ relations and gives due respect to the relatives of the patients.

24. Shall give necessary health education to the patient along with explanations regarding follow up care recommendations on the discharge slip.

25. Shall, while working in any special unit, need to handle special gadgets with adequate training (eg. ECG monitor in ICU).

26. Shall help in orientation of the students and help them in their work and teach health education to the patients.

27. Any other work given by the Nursing Superintendent.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From ₹18,000.00 per month
