Refrigeration Technician

The Refrigeration Technician is responsible for installing, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting all refrigeration systems used in food processing, cold storage, and production facilities. The role ensures uninterrupted cooling operations to maintain product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and servicing of refrigeration units, chillers, compressors, blast freezers, cold rooms, and HVAC systems.
• Monitor temperature, pressure, and operating conditions to ensure optimal performance.
• Maintain ammonia (NH₃) or Freon-based refrigeration systems as per safety standards.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration system faults.
• Repair or replace faulty components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, valves, and sensors.
• Attend breakdowns immediately to reduce downtime and prevent product loss.
• Follow safety protocols for handling refrigerants and pressurized systems.
• Maintain compliance with FSSAI, HACCP, GMP, and other food industry standards.
• Record refrigerant usage as per environmental regulations.
• Maintain logs of daily operations, service reports, maintenance checklists, and breakdown records.
• Suggest system upgrades and preventive actions to ensure long-term reliability.
• Coordinate with production, quality, and engineering teams for smooth operations.
• Support installation and commissioning of new refrigeration equipment.

Key Skills & Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems (Ammonia/Freon).
• Familiarity with PLC controls, temperature alarms, and automation systems.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and mechanical schematics.
• ITI / Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 2–5 years experience in food processing, dairy, meat, seafood, or cold storage industry.
• Cold room & processing area exposure
• Rotational shifts (if required)
• Must be physically fit to handle equipment and work in varying temperatures

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹14,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
