Reconciliation & Proofing Analyst 1

As a Rec & Proofing Analyst 1 at Citigroup, you will be a trainee professional expected to have a good knowledge of processes, procedures, and systems relevant to your tasks. Responsibilities: - Daily reconciliation of general ledger balances to the sub-ledger - Preparation of reconciliation package - Identification and clearance of accounting exceptions and mismatched items - Analysis of recurring issues and contribution to process improvements - Monitoring status of aged breaks on balance sheet accounts - Exercise sound judgment in applying accounting principles to reconciliations - Effective communication with team members, management, and business partners - Responding to Balance Sheet Substantiation team requests for information - Ensuring financial reporting deadlines are met - Participation in and/or leading assigned projects - Appropriately assessing risk in business decisions, focusing on compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding Citigroup, clients, and assets, and upholding ethical standards Qualifications: - 5-7 years of related experience required - CPA or commensurate local accreditation - Experience in accounting, with financial services sector experience preferred - Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other comprehensive basis of accounting - Proficient in MS Excel and investment banking Education: - Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience In this role, you will be part of the Operations - Transaction Services job family, specifically in the Reconciliation and Proofing job family.
