Reconciliation & Proofing Analyst 1

As a Rec & Proofing Analyst 1 at our company, you will be a trainee professional with a good understanding of processes, procedures, and systems. Your role will involve making evaluative judgements, resolving problems, and exchanging information effectively with various stakeholders. You will have a limited but direct impact on the business through the quality of your tasks and services. **Key Responsibilities:** - Daily reconciliation of general ledger balances to the sub-ledger - Preparation of reconciliation package - Identifying and clearing accounting exceptions and mismatched items - Analyzing reoccurring issues and assisting in developing process improvements - Monitoring status of aged breaks on balance sheet accounts - Exercising sound judgement regarding the proper application of accounting principles to reconciliations - Effectively communicating with team members, management, and business partners - Responding to Balance Sheet Substantiation team requests for information - Ensuring financial reporting deadlines are met - Participating in and/or leading projects as assigned - Appropriately assessing risk when making business decisions **Qualifications:** - 5-7 years related experience required - CPA or commensurate local accreditation - Experience in accounting (experience in the financial services sector a plus) - Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other comprehensive basis of accounting - Well-versed in MS Excel and investment banking In addition, you should hold a Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience.
