About RealLives Foundation: RealLives is an empathy-driven simulation platform creating global impact through social-emotional learning, multicultural understanding, and sustainable development. In India, RealLives operates the “RealLives ChangeMaker Program” , bringing 21st-century skills and the 18 competencies measured by the RealLives ChangeMaker Index (RCMI) to middle schools, high schools, experimental/international schools, universities, and youth engaged in SDG initiatives. Our platform includes RealBoard, Empathy Canvas, and the RealLives ChangeMaker Index , empowering youth to become empathy-driven changemakers while providing measurable insights into their social, leadership, and problem-solving competencies. The RealLives Platform is led by Dr. Parag Mankeekar , an Ashoka Fellow and Salzburg Global Fellow , giving interns the unique opportunity to work with a globally recognized social impact leader. Role Overview: We are looking for Node.js or Python interns to contribute to the development and enhancement of RealLives’ simulation platform and products. Interns will also have the opportunity to work with our senior Node.js and Python team on AI integration , a key ongoing initiative to enhance platform intelligence, personalization, and real-time analytics. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain backend services for the RealLives platform using Node.js or Python Integrate APIs and support platform features like RealBoard, Empathy Canvas, and RealLives ChangeMaker Index Collaborate with senior developers on AI integration to support personalized simulation experiences and competency tracking Support data collection, analysis, and visualization for tracking the RCMI competencies Contribute to platform scalability, security, and performance improvements Qualifications: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields Strong proficiency in Node.js or Python Familiarity with RESTful APIs, database systems (SQL/NoSQL), and cloud deployment Interest in AI, social impact, edtech, and simulation games Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote or on-site team environment Experience with data visualization or analytics is a plus Fluent in English Why Join: Work on a globally recognized social impact platform Collaborate directly with Dr. Parag Mankeekar , Ashoka and Salzburg Global Fellow Gain hands-on experience in AI integration, edtech, and social-emotional learning platforms Contribute to a program that equips youth with 21st-century skills and measurable change-making competencies
