R&D Mechanical Simulation Engineer - Bushings

Role Overview: Hitachi Energy is seeking a Mechanical Simulation Engineer to join the R&D team in Vadodara, India. The R&D organization in the Global Product Group (GPG) focuses on Product and Technology development projects, contributing to innovation capabilities and supporting business growth. As a Mechanical Simulation Engineer, you will be part of the Bushings and insulation product line within the Insulation and Components (I&C) division of the Business Unit Transformers at Hitachi Energy. Your role will involve executing the R&D roadmap, validating designs, and enhancing product evaluation through FEM simulations. Key Responsibilities: - Perform mechanical simulations using FEA in ANSYS and/or COMSOL to validate bushing design - Analyze FEA controls and process parameters to enhance simulation accuracy - Support engineering teams and manufacturing units with product operations and testing simulations - Provide solutions to R&D and engineering teams based on design validation results - Utilize object-oriented programming in FEA software to create a digitalized product platform - Develop customization toolkit using design and simulation parameters in CAD and FEA software - Prepare detailed simulation reports to communicate FEA results and evaluations internally - Collaborate with global R&D teams for innovation programs, trainings, and knowledge sharing sessions - Uphold Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity by ensuring compliance with regulations and guidelines Qualifications Required: - Masters degree in mechanical engineering with a strong background in FEA - Minimum 5 years of industrial experience in product validation through mechanical simulations using FEA - Proficiency in using mechanical modules in commercial FEA software such as ANSYS or COMSOL - Experience in performing linear and nonlinear static, dynamic, and transient analyses - Knowledge of material properties, failure theories, and elastoplastic analysis - Familiarity with object-oriented programming and scripting languages like C++, Python, Java - Fluency in spoken and written English language Note: Qualified individuals with disabilities may request accommodation during the job application process through Hitachi Energy's website.
