Job Description

You will be responsible for functional type testing of AC protection functions for the HVDC stations as per the IEC standards using secondary injection kits and a real-time simulation environment and getting the certification done by the authorized external laboratories. - Supports global R&D projects with the implementation and verification of the latest technology development using the Hardware in-loop environment of the latest development studies. - Sets up and maintains the lab environment for different HVDC R&D projects. - Develops control and protection solutions encompassing the full development cycle (design to delivery) for future HVDC technologies, ongoing HVDC projects, and other business units. - Develops test cases using EMT tools for the testing of HVDC control and protection functions in the virtual environment. - Develops automated test solutions for the AC protection functions for the HVDC projects. - Develops virtual unit testing solutions for the HVDC protection functions. - Supports projects in resolving issues related to protection functions. - Performs pre-studies for proposed control and protection ideas using EMT tools and identifies the right solutions. - Suggests new improvements that really aid the business related to control and protection functions. - Ensures compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. - Lives Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Master Power Systems. - 2 to 8 years of experience. - Knowledge in testing and commissioning of substation control and protection systems. - Understanding of different control and protection schematics of an HV/LV electrical substation. - Experience in the area of power system design and engineering is also welcome. - Basic knowledge about communication protocols like IEC61850, MODBUS, etc. - Experience in using secondary test kits like Omicron, Doble, etc. - Knowledge of PSCAD, MATLAB, or any other simulation software available for electric power system and control system, as well as RTDS, Hyper Sim, or any other electric power system simulators, is an added advantage. - Knowledge about HVDC control and protection systems will be considered a plus. - Experience with protection test case automation using scripts is an added advantage.,
