About the Role

R&D Design team

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of NVH components such as carpets, insulators, headliners, dash pads, and other acoustic solutions for automobiles.
• Create, modify, and validate

  3D CAD models, surfaces, and technical drawings

  using industry-standard design tools.
• Work closely with OEM customers to understand design requirements, technical standards, and validation needs.
• Collaborate with material, testing, and process engineering teams for prototype development and product validation.
• Conduct benchmarking and feasibility studies for new materials and innovative design concepts.
• Ensure designs meet performance, durability, manufacturability, and cost targets.
• Support APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, and other NPD (New Product Development) processes.
• Keep updated with the latest automotive design trends, NVH technologies, and industry standards.

Key Skills & Competencies (Designer R&D NVH)

• Design Software Proficiency:

• Unigraphics NX (UG NX / NX CAD)

  – Part Modeling, Assembly, Drafting.

• Surfacing proficiency

  (advanced surface modeling for complex automotive components).

• AutoCAD

  for 2D drawings and layout designs.
• Knowledge of

  Unigrafix

  for design integration.

• Technical Expertise:

• Strong understanding of

  NVH principles, acoustic behavior, and material properties

  .
• Knowledge of

  automotive product design & development lifecycle

  (APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, DVP&R).
• Familiarity with

  tooling, mold design, and manufacturing feasibility

  for NVH products.
• Exposure to

  CAE / FEA simulations (Acoustic / Vibration Analysis)

  preferred.

• Industry Knowledge:

• Hands-on experience in designing

  automotive interior & NVH components

  .
• Understanding of

  OEM requirements, GD&T, and automotive standards

  .
• Awareness of

  lightweight materials, sustainability, and cost optimization

  .

• Behavioral Skills:

• Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with design, production, and customer teams.
• Good communication and presentation skills for OEM interactions.
• Innovation-driven with high attention to detail.

Qualifications

• B.Tech / M.Tech in Mechanical / Automobile / Production Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in

  R&D / Design

  in an

  automotive manufacturing setup

  , preferably in NVH domain.
• Tools:

  UG NX, AutoCAD, Surfacing, Unigrafix

• Domain:

  Automotive NVH Design
