Job Title: Pharmacist Department: Pharmacy Location: Raphael Life Care Hospital Reporting To: Pharmacy In-charge Job Type: Full-Time Shift: Rotational (including weekends and holidays) Job Summary:The Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient distribution and use of medications for patients in accordance with hospital protocols and regulatory standards. The role involves dispensing prescriptions, managing inventory, providing drug information, and supporting healthcare professionals with pharmaceutical expertise. Key Responsibilities: Dispensing & Verification: Review and interpret physician prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness. Dispense medications precisely as per prescription, checking dosage, interactions, and potential side effects. Ensure proper labeling and packaging of medications. Patient Counseling & Communication: Educate patients on medication usage, dosages, side effects, and storage instructions. Address patient queries and concerns regarding medications. Inventory Management: Maintain appropriate stock levels and check for expired or near-expiry drugs. Assist in procurement and record-keeping of medicines. Ensure proper storage conditions for all pharmaceuticals. Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all hospital policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and drug regulatory laws. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the pharmacy area. Participate in internal audits and ensure all records are up-to-date. Collaboration: Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient treatment plans. Alert physicians about any potential drug interactions or contraindications. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain dispensing logs, billing, and patient records. Report adverse drug reactions (ADRs) and medication errors as per hospital policy. Qualifications: B.Pharm from a recognized institution. Registered with the Pharmacy Council of India. Minimum 1 year of hospital pharmacy experience preferred (freshers may also apply). Strong knowledge of pharmacology and hospital formulary systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Basic computer knowledge for pharmacy billing and stock systems. Work Environment:Fast-paced hospital environment. Must be able to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Requires attention to detail, precision, and ethical responsibility.
