Radiotherapy Technologist

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care :Providing direct patient care, monitoring patients for unusual reactions to treatment, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the treatment process.
• Treatment Planning: Assisting with the planning of radiation therapy treatments, including CT simulation and treatment setup.
• Equipment Operation :Operating and maintaining radiotherapy equipment, such as linear accelerators and CT scanners, ensuring proper functioning and safety.
• Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and any relevant data.
• Safety Compliance: Ensuring a safe environment for both patients and staff by adhering to radiation safety protocols and procedures.
• Collaboration: Working closely with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver effective and coordinated care.

Essential Skills:

• Technical Proficiency: Expertise in operating and maintaining radiotherapy equipment, including CT scanners and linear accelerators.
• Clinical Skills :Ability to assess patient conditions, administer treatment, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and address patient concerns effectively.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail is essential for accurate treatment planning and record keeping.

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in Radiotherapy Technology or a related field is typically required.
