Quantity Surveyor/Cost Estimator (Civil)

You should have at least 9-10 years of experience in quantity surveying within civil contracting (Construction Company) or consultancy organizations. Your educational background should include a Diploma / B.E. / B. Tech in Civil Engineering or Construction. It is essential that you are proficient in skills such as Quantity Surveying, Bill Of Quantities (BOQ), GFC Drawings, AutoCAD, Civil Engineering, Rate Analysis, and industrial projects. Preparation of pre-estimates for projects and experience in industrial projects will be advantageous. You must possess a strong theoretical and practical understanding of civil construction activities like RCC work, road and building work, structural steel work, architectural and finishing items, plumbing and sanitary items, and aluminium section work. You should be capable of collaborating with various design disciplines like structural engineers and architects. Independently preparing accurate quantity take-offs (BOQ bill of quantities) supported by measurement sheets and hand sketches is crucial. Proficiency in spreadsheet tools like Microsoft Excel and the ability to review and extract measurements from AutoCAD drawings are necessary. Experience in preparing rate analysis for civil construction items following CPWD/DSR format is required. You should also be experienced in certifying civil construction running and final bills, as well as reconciling materials like cement and steel. Accurately taking off quantities from construction and GFC drawings is essential. A strong knowledge of thumb rules and ratios for civil construction items such as cement and reinforcement consumption is expected. Having a network of suppliers, vendors, and contractors in various civil construction trades will be advantageous. Meticulous attention to detail and thoroughness in work are qualities that are highly valued. Preference will be given to candidates from Gujarat.,
